Irene M. Bramer, 95, of Marion, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2016, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Visitation: 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Friday, October 7, 2016, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Funeral Services: 12:00 p.m., Friday October 7, 2016, at the funeral home. Burial: Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Irene is survived by her daughter, Donna Simmons; son, Russell (Susan Swanson) Bramer: grandchildren, Christopher Simmons, Brad Bramer, and Jamie (fiancé Eddie Urtiaga) Bramer; and great-grandchildren, Logan, Colton, and Caleb.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold Bramer; and brother, Clifford Tefer.
Irene was born March 24, 1921, in rural Prairieburg, the daughter of Antone and Christina (Lawrence) Tefer. On June 21, 1950, she was united in marriage to Harold Louis Bramer in Cedar Rapids. Irene worked at J.S. Cook and Kiecks. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion. Irene enjoyed her flowers and watching birds. She loved going to casinos with Madelyn Olson. Irene also enjoyed going out to eat with family and friends.
