Ione G. Arnold, 77, of 930 39th Street SE, Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, September 9, 2004, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, following a long illness. Services: 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 13, 2004, at All Saints Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. David O?Connor. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, September 12, 2004, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, with a vigil service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Friends may also call from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial: Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her children, Sharon (Dennis) Sejkora of Marion, Sidney (Diane) Arnold, Karen "Carrie? Feye, all of Cedar Rapids and David (Margaret Young) Arnold, Sr. of Marion; 10 grandchildren, Brian (Debbie) Sejkora, Becky (Steve) Miller, Jordan, Joshua, Seth and Sarah Feye, David, Jr, Jennifer, Angela and Daniel Arnold; four great-grandchildren, Marshall and Scout Sejkora, Stryder Feye and Fisher Miller; two sisters, Darlene (William) Hunter of Cedar Rapids and Lois Verdow of Marion; a brother, Dale (Sandy) Butz of Walker; and special family friends, Tom Feye, Christina Arnold and Frank Spagnolo, all of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter; and a son, Robert.
Ione was born March 7, 1927, the daughter of Ermund and Anna Becker Butz, in Benton County, Iowa. On October 12, 1948, she was united in marriage to Walter Arnold in Walker, Iowa. He died in November 1979. Ione was a member of the All Saints Catholic Church. An avid Cubs and Hawkeye fan, she enjoyed bowling, jigsaw puzzles and traveling. Ione also volunteered at schools and nursing homes.
A memorial fund has been established in memory of Ione.
