Ingrid “Tootie” K. Jorgensen, 83, of Marion, Iowa, formerly of Walford, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at St. Luke’s Hospital. Services: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 2017, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 10:00 until service time, Saturday, at the funeral home. Private family burial: Norway Cemetery, Norway, Iowa.
Tootie is survived by her children, Richard (Susan) Jorgensen of Naperville, Illinois, Steve (Kimber) Jorgensen of Minnetonka, Minnesota, Susan “Susie” Jorgensen of Rotonda West, Florida; grandchildren, Katherine Jorgensen of Naperville, Illinois, Robert (Megan) Jorgensen of Naperville, Illinois, Daniel Jorgensen of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Nicholas Jorgensen and Lukas Jorgensen both of Minnetonka, Minnesota; great-grandchildren, Colin and Patrick of Naperville, Illinois; a sister, Eileen Robinson of Marion, Iowa; brother, Ivan (Mary Ann) Grabe of Swisher.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William & Rigmor Grabe; husband, Richard Dean Jorgensen; brother, Arno Kai Grabe; sister-in-law, Patricia Lillian (Poole) Grabe and a brother - in-law, Ray Robinson.
Tootie was born October 25, 1933 in Dannebrog, Nebraska, the daughter of William & Rigmor (Rasmussen) Grabe. On December 9, 1954, she was united in marriage to Richard Dean Jorgensen at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Norway, Iowa. Ingrid worked for Randall Foods and was a very talented cake decorator at Barlow’s Foods as well as at home. She enjoyed collecting ladybugs and had a love for bowling. Ingrid played in many national bowling tournaments. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Walford, the Red Hat Club in Atkins and she also played in many card clubs.
Memorial donations may be made in Ingrid “Tootie’s” memory to the Alzheimer Association of Greater Iowa. Additional donations may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church, Walford, Iowa.
