Imogene "Jean? Kruse, 86, of Center Point and formerly of Central City, passed away on Monday, March 28, 2005, at the Winslow House Care Center in Marion following a short illness. Services: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 31, 2005 at Murdoch Funeral Home in Center Point by Rev. Mike Ellson. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at the funeral home. Burial: Alice Cemetery, rural Center Point.
Jean is survived by two daughters, Daisy (Donald) Beebe of Marion, Verlene (Michael) Montgomery of Center Point; a son, Ron (Karen) Kruse of Marion; three brothers, Harold Usher of Marion, Delbert Usher and Paul Usher, both of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Donna Mittan of Blairstown; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband Verle; her parents; and two sisters, Alice Swinton and Pearl Usher.
Jean was born on December 29, 1918, in Republic, Iowa, the daughter of Otto and Sylvia (DeGroof) Usher. On November 12, 1936, Jean married Verle Kruse in Cedar Rapids. The couple lived thirty-three years on farm west of Central City until Verle?s death in 1981. She was a member of the Central City United Methodist Church.
