Ilene L. "Charlie? Haars, 82, of Center Point, died Monday, January 20, 2003, in her daughter?s home in Rockwood, Tennessee, following a short illness. Services: 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2003, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Center Point, by Rev. David Hansen. Friends may call today (Friday) from 4-8 at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point. Burial: Alice Cemetery, rural Center Point.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Cole and husband Ross of Rockwood, Tennessee; her son, Michael Haars of Center Point; 2 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 6 step great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Elizabeth (Libby), Zelda, Arleta and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman; and a sister, Helen.
Ilene was born March 26, 1920, the daughter of Ernest and Emma Theel Richter, in Dundee, Iowa. She married Herman Haars on October 31, 1948. He died August 24, 1998. A resident of Center Point since 1948, Ilene was a homemaker and a member of St. John?s Lutheran Church.
