Ila Mae Hedrick, 90, of Columbus City, formerly of Marion, died Sunday, November 8, 2009, at Washington County Hospital, Washington. Services: 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 12, 2009, at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Marion, by Rev. Brice Hughes. The family will greet friends 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, November 11, 2009, at the funeral home. Burial: North English Cemetery.
Survivors include her son, William (Christine) Hedrick, of Columbus City; four grandchildren, Bill (Jeanette) Wagner, Amanda (Manual) Raya, Julie (Nathan) Faler, and Theren Wagner (fiancé Karley Kling); and eight great-grandchildren, Ashley, Paige, and Sierra Wagner, Cristian and Josie Raya, and Caleb, Ethan, and Piper Faler.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer; three brothers, Lester, Leroy and Bill Claypool; sister, Betty Andrews; and two infant sons, Carl and Homer Hedrick.
Ila was born May 17, 1919, in Keokuk County, Iowa, to Carl and Blanche (Dersh) Claypool. She graduated from South English High School in 1936. Ila was married to Homer Hedrick on October 24, 1943, in North English. She worked for Rockwell for 24 years. Ila was a member of White Shrine and Kings Daughters.
