Ila Marie Gordon (Bakey)

Ila M. Gordon, 101, of Marion, formerly of Fort Dodge, passed from death into eternal life on Wednesday, May 27, 2009, and now resides with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Services: 9:00 a.m. Friday, May 29, 2009, at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Marion. The family will greet friends one hour before the service at the funeral home. Graveside Service: 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 29, 2009, at North Lawn Cemetery in Fort Dodge.
Ila was born May 10, 1908, in Webster County, to Albert and Antoinette Bakey. Ila graduated from Johnson Township Consolidated School in Barnum, Iowa. She married Lawrence Gordon in 1929. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughter, Laurene (Lori) Cordes of Marion; son, Mick Gordon of Fort Dodge; and sister, Evelyn Silver of Cedar Falls. She is also survived by five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Ila’s memory.
