Ida Mae Shonka

Ida Shonka, 81, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Sunday, February 14, 2016, at Willow Gardens Care Center, Marion. Visitation: 12:00-1:30 p.m. Friday, February 19, 2016, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Graveside Service: following visitation at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fairfax.
Ida is survived by her children, Denise (Dennis) Keifer, Patricia (Louis) Yeater, Leonard Shonka, Jr., Jo Davis, and Lynn Shonka; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many brothers and sisters.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard.
Ida was born on August 7, 1934, in Fairfax, Iowa, daughter of Charles and Margaret (Schulte) Stallman. In 1955, she married Leonard Arthur Shonka, Sr., at St. Patrick’s Church in Fairfax, Iowa. Ida loved her grandchildren and was a great wife and mother. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family and going to mass at St. Ludmila’s Church.
