Genevieve “Jenny” I. LeFlore, 89, formerly of Manchester, Iowa, died Thursday, January 21, 2010, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Services: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 27, 2010, at Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Manchester by Rev. Larry Schmitt. Private Inurnment: Oakland Cemetery, Manchester.
Survivors include her daughter, Billie Lou LeFlore of Cedar Rapids; a brother, Warren Haynes of Hopkinton; a sister, Gelia B. “Judy” (Marland) Huls; and many nieces, nephews, and special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers, Harlan, Victor, Clifford and Merlin; and a sister, Alma Grimm.
Genevieve was born August 4, 1920, the daughter of Lester and Elsie (Behning) Haynes in Delaware County. In April of 1960 she married William Henry LeFlore. Genevieve retired from Ertl Toy Company in Dyersville in 1987 where she was a machine operator. She worked for the Coggon School System during the 40’s and 50’s and at Jeannette Brockmeyer’s gift shop in Manchester. G.Gee enjoyed baking cookies and homemade bread.
Genevieve was a tissue donor and a member of the American Legion and VFW Auxiliary.
A memorial fund has been established in Genevieve’s memory.
