Genevieve (Covington) Buker, 79, of 1257 Marion Airport Rd., Marion, died Sunday, February 15, 2004, in her home after an extended illness. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 18, 2004, at Springville Presbyterian Church, Springville, by the Rev. Christine Wagner-Hecht. Friends may call at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, from 4 - 7 p.m.Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004. Burial: Mt. Clark Cemetery, Central City.
Survivors include her husband, Victor; three sons, Darrell (Lori) Buker of Placentia, California, Gary (Paula) Buker of Farmington, New Mexico, and Kevin (Brenda) Buker of Marion; a grandson, Eric Buker of Laguna Beach, California; and three sisters, Ula Mae Carpenter of Sealy, Montana, Carmalita Lentz of Hiawatha and Virginia Ann Wilson of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers; and one sister.
Jennie was born April 30, 1924, the daughter of Leroy and Lona (Gage) Covington in rural Central City, Iowa. She attended Central City High School and graduated from Franklin High School in Cedar Rapids, Class of 1941. On September 6, 1942, she was united in marriage to Victor E. Bukor in Enid, Oklahoma. Jennie was a member of Springville Presbyterian Church.
