Howard R. Cole, 74, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, formerly of Manchester, Iowa, died Tuesday, December 21, 2021. A memorial service will take place at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Burial will follow at Dunkard Cemetery in Midway, Iowa.
Howard was born November 12, 1947, in Iowa City, the son of Howard and Ida (Holthaus) Cole. He was united in marriage to Shirley Morris on May 26, 1973, in Moberly, Missouri. Howard retired from truck driving in 2001.
Survivors include his children, Renee (Mike) Dyson of Cedar Rapids, Timus (Robin) Galli of Cedar Rapids, Dennis (Jackie) Galli of Central City, Iowa, Michael (Von) Galli of Urbana, Iowa, Linda Tally-Dye of Waterloo, Iowa, David (Carol) Galli of Shellsburg, Iowa, and Debra Schropp of Marion; 27 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Larry Cole, Gary (Tracy) Cole, and Roger Cole.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Cole, and Walter and Ida Benter; and his wife, Shirley in 2020.
