Hilda M. Ramsey, 100, a resident of Hiawatha Care Center, formerly of Troy Mills, died Sunday, December 12, 2004, at the care center following a short illness. Services: 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 15, 2004 at Troy Mills Christian Church by Rev. Les Larson. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, December 14, 2004, at the Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Walker. Burial: Troy Mills Cemetery, Troy Mills.
Survivors include her children, Byrdena I. Williams of Cedar Rapids and Vivian B. Infield of Prairie Du Chien, Wisconsin; a daughter-in-law, Marie Ramsey of Cedar Rapids; 17 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; her parents; three sisters, Fay Dudley, Doris Haars and Donna Heiserman; a brother, Robert; a son, Leland; and an infant son, Richmond.
Hilda was born February 11, 1904, the daughter of Richard A. and Lizzie L. (McPike) Elliott in Buchanan County. On May 18, 1920, she married Howard Ramsey in Marion, Iowa. He died in 1964. Hilda enjoyed crocheting for her family and wall papered in the Troy Mills area for years. She was a homemaker and a member of Troy Mills Christian Church.
