Hilda M. Hodge, 85, a resident of Heritage Nursing and Rehab Center in Cedar Rapids, formerly of Marion, died Friday, May 4, 2007, at the care center, following a long illness. Resurrection Service: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2007, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion by Dr. Terry Seufferlein. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include three sons, Ray William (Peggy Sue) Turner of Miami, Florida, Phillip J. (Barbara Ann) Turner of Cedar Rapids, and Jack Earl Turner of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Betty Herren; three brothers, Bob, Ray, and Roy Mrstik; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Raymond Donald Turner and George D. Hodge; two sisters, Ruth Daywitt and Eleanor Irene Mrstik; two brothers, Joe and Johnnie Mrstik; and two grandsons, Phillip E. and John Charles Turner.

Hilda was born June 6, 1921, in Cedar Rapids, to Grant and Ruth (Rosendahl) Brownell and was raised by her mother and step-father, John Joe Mrstik. She married Raymond Donald Turner on November 17, 1937. He died February 16, 1966. She then married George D. Hodge on August 23, 1980. He died March 17, 2003. Hilda was a homemaker and had worked at Sherwin Williams Paint Store in Cedar Rapids.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Auxiliary.
