Hilary D. McCue, 21, of 627 21st St. NE, Cedar Rapids, died Monday, January 6, 2003, at her home, following a sudden illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 10, 2003, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion by Rev. Nick Longworth. Friends may call from 4 - 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery in Marion.
Survivors include her mother, Melanie Mead of Cedar Rapids; her father, Glen McCue and wife Diana of Glendale, Arizona; her maternal grandfather, Robert Mead of Marion; her paternal grandmother, Marian Handley and husband Jerry of Rogers, Arkansas; and her brother, Kristoffer McCue of Phoenix, Arizona.
Also surviving are aunts and uncles, Micki and Tom Telgenhoff of Marion, Bob Mead of Denver, Colorado, Jessica and Dennis Trout of Marion, Cathy and Chip Kensinger of Marion, Bob and Sue McCue of Marion and Marianne and Mike Schmit of Rogers, Arkansas; and cousins, Tom, Jennifer, Kari and Bryan Telgenhoff, Kurt Trout and Shelly Fowler, Brian and Robert Schmit, Justin, Jesse and Royce Kensinger, and Mike and Matt McCue.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Sherry Mead and her paternal grandfather, Robert McCue.
Hilary was born August 26, 1981, the daughter of Glen S. and Melanie S. (Mead) McCue in Phoenix, Arizona. Hilary attended Linn-Mar High School. Following graduation, she briefly served with the U.S. Army. She had recently started working at Red Lobster restaurant in Cedar Rapids. Hilary was a free spirit, always looking for her next adventure. She had a big heart and was loved by all who knew her. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
