Herbert H. Roehr, 71, of 690 Bent Creek Dr., Marion, died, Saturday, July 5, 2008 at home, after a prolonged illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 10, 2008, at Faith Lutheran Church by Rev. John Albertson and Rev. Linda Livingston. The family will greet friends from 4 - 8 p.m., Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Graveside Service: 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 10, 2008, at Keystone Cemetery, Keystone, Iowa.
Survivors include his wife, Daisy; his children, Brad (Cindy) Roehr of Cedar Rapids, Todd J. (Nancy A.) Roehr, M.D. of Davenport, Jeanne (Jim) Janssen of Quincy, Illinois, Nikki (Tim) Hall of Cumming, Georgia; 3 sisters, Mardene Mackey of Davenport, Alice (Ray) Junge of Keystone, and Carolyn (Larry) Sayers of Lake St. Louis, Missouri; and 6 grandchildren, Kristi and Alisa Roehr of Cedar Rapids, Aaron Roehr of Davenport, Brody and Taylor Janssen of Quincy, Illinois and Hayden Hall of Cumming, Georgia.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Herb was born July 10, 1936, the son of Carl and Viola (Jensen) Roehr, in Luzerne, Iowa. He married Daisy M. Bonesteel on August 2, 1959 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Keystone. Herb was employed as an Electrician for I.B.E.W. #405. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. Herb was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes and Chicago Cubs fan. He especially looked forward to his annual fishing trips to Minnesota with his family.
