Helen A. Soden, 93, of Marion, Iowa, died Thursday, September 24, 2015, at Unity Point Hospice, Cedar Rapids. Services: 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 28, 2015, at Grace Baptist Church, Marion, conducted by Pastor Cecil Ballard. Family will greet friends from 3-6 Sunday, September 27, 2015, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Burial: Urbana Cemetery, Urbana, Iowa.
Survivors include her children, Orville (Rosie) Soden and Twila Rose M. Soden all of Marion; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank; and a grandson, Richard.
Helen was born on August 9, 1922, in southern Iowa, daughter of Clifford and Opal (DeVault) Parker. She graduated from Urbana High School. Helen married Frank Soden in Ottumwa. Then moved to Marion where she was a stay at home mother. Helen loved watching old movies on T.V., babysitting, shopping, scrap booking and playing cards.
