Helen Jean Peyton, 93, a resident of Summit Point in Marion, formerly of Coggon, died Tuesday, July 8, 2014. Funeral Service: 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 13, 2014, at United Parrish Church, Coggon, by Rev. Jen Filter. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Sunday. Burial: Coggon Cemetery.
Survivors include her children, Rhoda Trefz of Davenport, Sherry (Ralph Dickson) Zumbrunnen of Phoenix, AZ, and Joe (Sandy) Henderson of Coggon; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Jim Merritt.
She was preceded in death by her husbands; parents; three brothers; one sister; daughter, Karen Crowley; and grandson, Steven Henderson.
Helen was born April 27, 1921, in Prairieburg, Iowa, the daughter of Andrew and Eleanor (Brunen) Merritt. She was a member of the Eastern Star and Quality Ridge Club.
