Helen Lucille Sears, 99, a resident of Winslow House Care Center in Marion, died there Thursday, January 5, 2012. Per Lucille’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion.
Survivors include her son, Richard (Rosemary) Sears of South Carolina; 4 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jo (Lloyd) Hoyle of Louisiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and daughter, Nancy Zwanziger.
Lucille was born December 22, 1912, in Mechanicsville to Frank and Adelaide (Jakelin) Nost. She married Richard Sears and together they raised two children. Richard passed away in 1988. Lucille worked as a seamstress at J.C. Penny’s Department Store in downtown Cedar Rapids for many years.
