Helen R. Lane, 84, former resident of Manchester and Marion, Iowa, died Friday morning, April 18, 2003, at the Verandah Assisted Living Facility, St. Petersburg, Florida, following a short illness.

Services will be held at 2:30pm, on Wednesday, April 23, 2003, at Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Manchester, the Rev. Wade Kirsteatter will officiate. Friends may call from 1:00 pm to service time at Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home on Wednesday. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Manchester, Iowa.

Helen was born January 11, 1919 near Dundee, Iowa, the daughter of Farley R. and Cora Ann (Neinstead) Kennedy. She grew up in Delaware County, graduating from the Manchester High School in 1936. Helen was married to Bernard E. "Bun? Lane. Helen worked as a bookkeeper for many years with Great Plains Supply Company and Marion Cashway in addition to working as an estimator for twelve years at Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids. In 1980 Helen and her husband Bun, retired to Brooksville, Florida where she resided for sixteen years before moving to St. Petersburg.

Helen was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Marion. She was also a past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star. Helen enjoyed needlework and china painting

Helen is survived by her daughter, Marcelene "Marcy? (Elton) Winistorfer of Poinciana, Florida; two sons, Coy (Diane) Lane of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida and Terry Lane of Longwood, Florida; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister Edith (Mel) Wall of Cordova, IL; and a brother, Orville (Jeannine) Kennedy of Manchester.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Farley & Cora Kennedy; her husband, Bernard E. "Bun? Lane; and three brothers, Millard, Paul and Glen Kennedy.
