Helen A. Bush, 89, of Manchester, formerly of Hopkinton, died Saturday, October 11, 2008 at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester following a brief illness
A Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 17, 2008 at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Hopkinton by Rev. John Kremer. Family will greet friends one hour before services at the church. Burial will be in the Hopkinton Cemetery. Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Manchester, Iowa is in charge of arrangements.
Helen was born December 31, 1918 in Delaware County, the daughter of Bernard & Marie (Schmidt) Goldsmith. After she received her education at the Plum Creek School, she did domestic work for area families. Helen was united in marriage to Roy Bush at the Delhi Catholic Church in 1955. The couple lived in the Earlville, Colesburg, Hopkinton, and Ryan areas.
Helen enjoyed spending time with her daughter and sewing.
Helen is survived by one daughter, Murial Bush of Delhi; two sisters, Florence Henkel of McGregor and Cecelia (Bob) Dudley of Manchester; two brothers, Al (Marjorie) Goldsmith of McGregor and Leo “Duff” Goldsmith of Earlville.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Bush; her parents, Bernard & Marie Goldsmith; one brother, Bernard Goldsmith; five sisters, Rose (Fred) Goegel, Marieta (Kenneth) Knospie, Matilda Goldsmith, Ada (Anthony) Hawkinson, and Nellie Hubert Grape & Lemoine Fergeson) Fergeson; two infant siblings; and a brother-in-law, Jerome Henkel; and a sister-in-law, Doris Goldsmith.
