Helen Marie (Stumpf) Brandt-Miller, 94, formerly of Hinckley, Minnesota, died Sunday evening, January 12, 2003, at the Good Neighbor Home, Manchester, following a short illness.
Helen Marie (Stumpf) Brandt-Miller passed away from this life on Sunday evening, January 12, 2003, at the age of 94.
Born on December 27, 1908 at Buhl, Minnesota, to Fred & Marie (Friedl) Stumpf. They moved to a farm at Hinckley, Minnesota. She attended school and graduated in 1926. In 1932, she married Henry Brandt in Hinckley. To this union a boy was born, Fred Brandt. In 1941, her parents sold their farm and moved in with Helen and her son. In 1954, Henry Brandt passed away. Helen worked at a local café and dry goods store for many years. Her father passed away in 1957. In 1965, she married Glenn Miller and with her mother moved to St. Paul, Minnesota. Her mother passed away in 1967. In 1979, they retired and moved back to Hinckley. In 1988, her husband Glenn passed away. She lived in her home until 1999 when she moved to Manchester, Iowa to be near her son. She entered the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester in 2001 where she lived until her passing.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Frieda Stumpf, Martha Pittman, Ida Olson, and Florence Maygren.
She will be greatly missed by her only son and his wife, Fred & Yvonne Brandt of Manchester, and by her four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 16, 2003, at the St. Patrick?s Catholic Church in Hinckley, Minnesota. Friends may call from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Wednesday at the Tatting-Methven Funeral Home, Hinckley, and one hour prior to the funeral mass on Thursday at the church. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Catholic Cemetery.
