Heinrich Haidin, 52, of 1485 Meadowview Drive, Marion, and a former resident of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, August 31, 2003, in the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Iowa City, following a long illness. Memorial Services: 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 6, 2003, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include his wife, Heidi; a daughter, Fatima Haidin of Long Beach, California; a stepdaughter, Nicole Hammarstrom of Reno, Nevada; his mother, Regina Krklec of Cedar Rapids; and a brother, Slatko Haidin of Cedar Rapids.

Also surviving are two grandchildren, Malika and Antonio; two nieces; and a nephew.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Born December 28, 1950, in Spital, Austria, to Saban and Regina Haidin, he married Heidi Johnson on July 8, 1996, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A Vietnam veteran, he served with the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1972 and earned a Bronze Star and Purple Heart. For fifteen years, he was a stagehand for Local 67. Henry will be dearly missed by his family, friends and his cat.
