Hazelle H. Jennings, 92, a resident of Linn Manor Care Center, died Monday, January 2, 2006, at the care center, following a lengthy illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 5, 2006, at First United Methodist Church in Marion by Rev. Melissa Brecht-Wagner. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion. Graveside Committal: 2:30 p.m. Thursday, January 5, 2005, at Greenview Memorial Gardens in Moline, Illinois.
Survivors include a son, Warren (Nancy) Jennings of Marion; a daughter, Cecelia Copeland of Eureka, Illinois; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Billy Joe Hollenbeck; and a sister, Ruth Logan.
Hazelle was born April 22, 1913, the daughter of William and Lu (Gradwell) Hollenbeck in Exline, Iowa. On March 21, 1935, she married Warren P. "Barney? Jennings in Kahoka, Missouri. He died in 1976. Hazelle taught remedial reading for many years in the Moline School District. She was a lifelong Methodist and a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Moline and First United Methodist Church in Marion. Hazelle was a member of the Retired Teacher?s Association and a former member of King?s Daughters and Order of the Eastern Star.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Hazelle?s memory.
