Hazel Wazac (Ruggeberg)

Hazel Wazac, 91, a resident of the Hiawatha Care Center, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, January 7, 2014, at the care center. Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 11, 2014, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral. Burial: Lost Nation Cemetery.
Survivors include her children, David (Ruth) Wazac, Mark (Debbie) Wazac, Dennis (Jo) Wazac, and Robin (Nathan) Borrett; nine grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her parents; and two sisters, Bernice Gruenwald and Esther Ruggeburg.
Hazel was born on May 30, 1922, in Lost Nation, the daughter of Edward and Amanda (Busch) Ruggeberg. She graduated from Lost Nation High School. Hazel married Robert Rudolf Wazac on December 26, 1943, in Spokane Washington.

Hazel enjoyed volunteering at various organizations in the Cedar Rapids area.
