Hazel Verge Joyce, 73, of 3554 Walker Road, Walker, Iowa, died Thursday, December 26, 2002, in St. Luke?s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a long illness. Services: 10:30 a.m., Monday, December 30, 2002, at Walker United Methodist Church by Rev. David Siler. Friends may call from 3-7, Sunday, December 29, 2002, at the Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Walker, Iowa. Burial: Troy Mills Cemetery, Troy Mills, Iowa.
Survivors include her husband, Clarence; her daughters, Norma (Duane) Johnson of Robins, Nadine (Steven) Smith and Marlene (Dennis) Mills, of Walker; a sister, Fern (Paul) Mollenhauer, of Lafayette; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Harold.
Hazel was born August 31, 1929, in rural Center Point, Iowa, to Ira Orville and Laura Alice (Jones) Alden. She married Clarence on October 17, 1948, in Troy Mills, Iowa. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She had a wonderful sense of humor and will be greatly missed by all.
