Hazel Marie Hepker
December 14, 1900 — January 27, 2006
Hazel Marie Hepker, 105, a resident of Northbrook Manor Care Center, formerly of Palo, died Friday, January 27, 2006, at the care center, following a brief illness. Memorial Services: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2006, at Palo United Methodist Church. Per Hazel?s wishes, there will be no visitation. Private Inurnment: Palo Cemetery. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion.
Survivors include her son Dennis (Joanne) Hepker of Hiawatha; five grandchildren, Duane (Kathy) Hepker, Darrell (Laurie) Hepker, Dan Hepker, Jeff Bradshaw and Donna Branson; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David; a son, Donald; two brothers, Earl and Everett McVay; and two sisters, Blanche Evans and Ethel Holmes.
Hazel was born December 14, 1900, the daughter of Clayton and Mary (Swallom) McVay in Palo. She married David Glenn Hepker in 1919. He died in 1951. Hazel worked as a cook at Palo School for many years. She was a member of the Palo United Methodist Church.
Hazel enjoyed cooking and time spent at home and on the farm. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
