Harry Guy Haynes, 70, of Keokuk, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at the 6270 Partners Avenue Building in Marion, Iowa, in suite #311. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Marion is assisting the family with arrangements.
Harry was born on June 11, 1953, in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Guy Wayne and Betty Jean (Martin) Haynes. He was a graduate of John F. Kennedy Senior High School in Bloomington, Minnesota. Harry was an accomplished, multi-award-winning, certified kitchen designer, who was recognized in numerous national magazines. He was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan, former cowboy rancher, and flat track racer. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Harry is survived by his son, Guy Haynes of Seattle, Washington; step-children, Jill (Mike) Woodring of Marion, Iowa, Samantha (Clayton) Kendall of Keokuk, Iowa, Shauna (Dan) Whitaker of Ely, Iowa, and John (Tara) Brooks of Donnellson, Iowa; their mother and his significant other, Jeanne Brooks of Marion; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Marilyn (Mike) McReynolds of White Bear, Minnesota, and Susan (Patrick) Behar of Paris, France; four nephews, Marc and Ian Behar, and Andrew and Alex Nicoll; and four nieces, Meghan Behar, Charlotte and Molly McReynolds, and Alison Nicoll.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Betty Jean Haynes, and a sister, Nancy Nicoll.
