Harry H. Andrews

Harry H. Andrews, 76, of Silver Pines Assisted Living and Retirement Center in Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, December 13, 2003, in St. Luke?s Hospital, following a long illness. There will be no services or visitation. Private family burial will be at the Troy Mills Cemetery. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Marion.
Surviving are two brothers, Andy Andrews and wife Martha of Troy Mills and John Andrews of Anaheim, California; a sister, Zella Shedeck and husband Mal of Cedar Rapids;a friend, Vicki Egloff of Marion; and many nieces and nephews.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Betty, two sisters and two brothers.
Harry was born the son of Will and Mae Pugh Andrews on November 12, 1927, in Troy Mills. On August 14, 1956, in Cedar Rapids, he was united in marriage to Betty Varga. She died December 16, 1993. Harry served in the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy during World War II. He worked for the Cedar Rapids Water Department as a plant operator for thirty-three and a half years.
