Harold Vincent Woods

Harold V. Woods, 82, of Central City, died Monday, September 22, 2008, at Willow Gardens Care Center, Marion, following a short illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 25, 2008, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Central City, by Rev. Jonna Jensen. The family will greet friends from 4 - 8 p.m., Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at the funeral home. Burial: Mt. Clark Cemetery, Central City, Iowa.
Survivors include his wife, Marian; a daughter, Teresa (Ed) Miller of Marion; 2 grandchildren, Jason (Stacy) Miller of Marion and Bryan (fiancé Dana Voight) Miller of Marion; 2 great-grandchildren, Brandon and Sadie Miller; and 2 sisters, Virginia Sweet of Manchester and Mary Woods of Newhall.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Robinson and a brother, Paul Woods, who died in infancy.
Harold was born July 1, 1926, the son of Clem and Mary (Conway) Woods, near Coggon, Iowa. He served in the U.S. Army during W.W.II. Harold married Marian Albin on October 30, 1949, in Marion, Iowa. He was a member of the Cedar Rapids Region Antique Auto Club of America; the Midwest Antique Gas Engine & Tractor Association and was a volunteer at the Midwest Old Settlers and Threshers Association at Mt. Pleasant.
