Harold Lee Kelso, 92, of Walker, died Tuesday, March 23, 2010, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Services: 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 26, 2010, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Walker. The family will greet friends from 4 – 7 p.m., Thursday, March 25, 2010, at the funeral home. Burial: Walker Cemetery, Walker, Iowa. Military honors provided by American Legion Ray Post #376 of Walker.

Survivors include his wife, Erva, of Walker; 1 daughter, Carole (Robert) Beresford of Troy Mills; 10 grand-children; 14 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are 2 sons-in-law, Gene Tempus of Colorado, and Mark Meader of Waubeek; and 1 sister-in-law, Helen Kelso of Cedar Rapids.

He was preceded in death by 2 daughters, Sharon and Janet; and 2 brothers, Ronald and Charles.
Harold was born November 22, 1917, the son of Vernon and Amelia (Engler) Kelso, in Spencers Grove, Iowa. He married Erva Pearl Cahill on May 28, 1939, in Spencers Grove. Harold was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during W.W.II. He worked at Quaker Oats until he changed occupations to work at Sherman Plumbing & Heating in Walker. He later became self-employed in the plumbing & heating business. Harold was an avid morel mushroom hunter and loved to read. He was a member of American Legion Ray Post #376 of Walker.
