Harold J. Duckett, 88, of 2460 4th Avenue in Marion, died Thursday, February 3, 2005, in Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, following a short illness. Memorial Services: 3:00 p.m. Monday, February 7, 2005, at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Marion by the Rev. Bill Holly. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the memorial service on Monday.
Survivors include his wife, Marge, four daughters, Evelyn Meyers of Las Vegas, Mari-Ann Servey and Jerry Nibeck of Marion, Linda (Charles) Blackford of The Colony, Texas and Cathy (Dennis) Fish of Marion; and two sons, Clifford Duckett of Michigan and Michael Duckett of Springville.
Also surviving are nineteen grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Donald Duckett, a stepson, Terry Sorensen and a great-grandson, Noah Grabe.
Harold was born the son of Elmer and Eva (Keller) Duckett on April 9, 1916, in Ft. Dodge. On August 9, 1947, in Ohio, he was united in marriage to Margaret Elizabeth Phillips. He was employed at Boilermakers Local No. 83, of which he was a member. Harold was a volunteer policeman for the City of Marion.
Harold enjoyed spending time at horse shows, motorcycling and driving stock cars.
