Harold Dale Kiecksee, 90, of 860 17th St. S.E., Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, April 17, 2008 at Higley Mansion Care Center, following a long illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at Bethany Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Pastor Joe Polzin. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include his daughter, Elizabeth of Nashville, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews, including Kay and Emil Petersen, of Davenport, Iowa, Marna and Leo Melsha of Phoenix, Arizona, Paul and Martha Kiecksee of Swisher, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. Alan Kiecksee of Cedar Rapids, Lawrence and Norma Sanders of Cedar Rapids, and Dee La Grange, of Fort Madison, Iowa. Also surviving is his loving friend, Helen Young of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and two brothers, Paul and Robert Kiecksee.

Born August 31, 1917 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Helmuth Johahn and Flossie Pearl (Mayfield) Kiecksee, he married Edina Pearl Sanders on April 11, 1949. She died April 8, 1993. During World War II, he served with the U.S. Army. For thirty-four years, he worked for FMC-Link Belt in Cedar Rapids. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, American Legion Hanford Post No. 5, Otter Creek Sportsman’s Club and the NRA.
