Harlan M. Waychoff, 85, of 2532 Linwood Street S.W., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Sunday, April 22, 2007, in St. Luke?s Hospital following a short illness. At his request no services will be held. His body was donated to the University of Iowa. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Barbara Mullane; daughter, Colette (Mark) Dethlefs of Bertrand, Nebraska; two grandchildren, Dru Dethlefs and Beau Dethlefs; sisters, Bonnie Staehli of Des Moines, Loine Reinhardt of Des Moines and Thelma Zwifel of Clarion, Iowa; brother-in-law, Paul Mullane of Prescott, Arizona; and a sister-in-law, Carol Ross of Madrid, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and two sisters.
Harlan was born May 30, 1921, in Audubon County, Iowa, the son of Chaney and Lillian (Rasmussen) Waychoff. He graduated from East High School in Des Moines. On October 1, 1954, he married Barbara Mullane in Cedar Rapids. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was the Service Manager for Bob Zimmerman Ford. Harlan attended Asbury United Methodist Church.
