Harlan E. Raus, 89, of Manchester passed away in his home peacefully with his wife at his side, Wednesday, March 28, 2012.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 31, 2012 at the Manchester United Methodist Church by Rev. Mike Druhl. Visitation: 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 30, 2012 at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Manchester and one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery, Manchester.

Harlan Earl Raus was born August 22, 1922 in Prairie Township in Delaware County, the eldest son of Earl and Selma (Lorenz) Raus. He graduated from Manchester High School in 1939. On October 16, 1950, Harlan was united in marriage to Edith Loretta Henderson at the Presbyterian Church in Manchester.

Harlan was employed by the Delaware County Department of Transportation for 34 years, retiring in 1985. He was also a Real Estate Broker since 1974. Harlan was a member of the Manchester United Methodist Church, Country Music Association, and R.O.P.E.

Harlan was most proud of his wife’s many achievements and the huge host of friends they made in their life.

Harlan is survived by his wife, Edith; a sister, Lorraine (Dale) Koger of Lawton, OK and a brother, William “Bill” (Betty) Raus of Winthrop; a good friend, Donna Venteicher; a of nieces and nephews and many good friends in Manchester and Nashville, TN.

Harlan was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Selma Raus and a brother, David Raus.

A memorial fund has been established in Harlan’s name.
