Harlan E. Nelson

Harlan E. Nelson, 85, of 2925 38th Ave. SW, Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, June 3, 2008, in his home, following a long illness. There will be no services. Arrangements are with Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include a niece, Donna Yanda of Cedar Rapids; two great-nieces, Monica Yanda of Cedar Rapids and Melissa Yanda of Boston; and a great-nephew, Dylan Gremm of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Doris Shada.
Harlan was born November 28, 1922, the son of Aaron and Helen (Stone) Nelson, in Britt, Iowa. He served in the United States Army. For over 20 years, Harlan was a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service.
