Harl B. Wilson

Harl B. Wilson, 81, of Manchester, died Tuesday, December 9, 2003, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester, after a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 12, 2003 at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Manchester with Rev. Roger B. Henry officiating. Friends may call from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home, and one hour prior to services on Friday. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery in Masonville.
Harl was born on August 9, 1922, in Manchester, Iowa, the son of Lawrence C. "Billy? and Nell M. Wilson. He attended school in rural Delaware County. On August 2, 1945, Harl was united in marriage to Jean A. McLane at the Presbyterian parsonage in Manchester.
Harl was a life-long carpenter. During his retirement he enjoyed woodworking, gardening and helping his son in his business. Harl also liked having coffee and reminiscing about the good old days with his friends. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his pet cats.
Harl is survived by six children and their spouses, Janice Wilson of Manchester, Allen (Carolyn) Wilson of Manchester, Shirley (Jim) Wickman of Manchester, Dianna (Harry) Ries of Earlville, John C. Wilson of Manchester, and Ellen (Glenn) Nystel of Manchester; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Marvin Wilson of Ryan; a special nephew, Daryl Wilson and his wife JoAnn; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Jean in 1999; an infant son; two brothers, Dale and Elmer Wilson; and two sisters, Viola Falconer and Gladys Takes.
Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer?s Unit at the Good Neighbor Home, Manchester.
