Gwendolyn Justine Smith, 31, of 350 11th Street SW, Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, December 29, 2005, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, following an accident. Services: 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2006, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Del Bear. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, January 2, 2006, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, David Bonner; her children, Tyler Smith, Justine Bonner and David Bonner, Jr., all at home; her mother, Kathryn (John) Bailey of Marion; her father, Roger (Sharon) Smith of Mountain Home, Arkansas; a brother, Chris Stark of Marion; a stepbrother, Brian (Dana) Bailey of Marion; a stepsister, Lynn (Rob) Witherall of New Berlin, Illinois; and many nieces, nephews and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Melinda and sister, Sonya; her grandmother, Saraina Putnam; her grandparents, William and Yolanda Smith; and two aunts, Karen Tompkins and Ann Smith.
Gwen was born August 31, 1974, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A 1992 graduate from Marion High School, she worked at CCB Packaging. Gwen was a loving mother who cherished spending time with her children. She enjoyed riding ATV?s and loved joining her children in outdoor activities. Gwen was full of life and spunk and had a very generous giving heart. She will be loved and missed by everyone she has touched, forever.
