Gregory Michael McDaniel, 44, of 1312 L Street S.W., Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, December 4, 2005, in Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, following a sudden illness. Memorial Services: 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2005, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. The family will greet friends from 12-2 p.m., Wednesday, December 7, 2005, at the funeral home.
Survivors include his mother, Dorothy; daughters, Andrea and Sara Lauterwasser, and Brittney McDaniel; a grandson, Jack Joseph Childers; brothers and sisters, Jim Gatewood of Cedar Rapids, Doug Gatewood (Kathy Reilly and children, Francis and Patrick) of Cedar Rapids, Kathy (John) Graham of Cedar Rapids, Brenda (Kirk) Smith of Mt. Vernon, Deb Gatewood (Russel Swartz) of Cedar Rapids, Donald Gatewood of Cedar Rapids, Robin McDaniel of Cedar Rapids, Cindy (Werner) Schmzal of Tehachapi, California, Louis "Tiny? McDaniel of Cedar Rapids, Trudy (Frank) Teslik of Clarion, Iowa, Angela (Erik) Pfiffner of Cedar Rapids, David (Dana) McDaniel of Cedar Rapids, Laurie (Randy) Hanson of Cedar Rapids, and Cassandra Gatewood; family friends, Keith and Kevin Bell; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; and his brothers, Bobby Gatewood and Gary Gatewood.
Gregory was born April 27, 1961, the son of Louis and Dorothy (Jenkins) McDaniel in Cedar Rapids.
