Gregg E. Sutton, 54, of Masonville, died Sunday evening, January 29, 2006 at the Regional Medical Center in Manchester of coronary artery disease.
Funeral Mass will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, February 2, 2006 at St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Manchester by Rev. Msgr. Ralph Simington. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Manchester with a 7 p.m. Scripture service. Burial will be in St. Mary?s Catholic Cemetery, Manchester.
Gregg was born May 13, 1951 in Manchester, the son of Elden J. & H. Bernice (McBride) Sutton. He graduated from East Buchanan High School in 1969. Gregg studied welding at Kirkwood Community College. On June 16, 1989 Gregg was united in marriage to Donna Arens of Dyersville at St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Manchester. Gregg worked for Jasper Construction Company before owning and operating Sutton Welding & Fabrication of Winthrop for over twenty years.
Gregg was a member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Manchester. He was an avid antique tractor collector and loved farming. Gregg & Donna recently purchased Harley-Davidsons and were looking forward to spending time motorcycling. Gregg had the personality that attracted people to him, had many friends and knew people everywhere.
Gregg is survived by his wife, Donna; a daughter, Holly Sutton (Jim Doyle) of Cedar Rapids; a step-son, Corey (Stefani) DeMoss of Dyersville and their children, Emma & Dylan; two brothers, Stanley Sutton of West Layfette, IN and Gordon (Beth) Sutton of Wyoming, IL; two nephews, Gregg & Jimmy; two nieces, Jennifer & Janet (Ron) Salisbury; a great-niece, Kylie; his mother-in-law, Mary Arens; brother-in-law, Tom (Crissy) Arens and their fchildren; and a sister-in-law, Mary Jo (Steve) Friedmann and family.
Gregg is preceded in death by his parents Elden & Bernice Sutton; a sister, Rita Sutton; brother, Brian Sutton; an aunt, Opal McBride; and his father-in-law, Dick Arens.
