Grace Alberta Rommann
December 16, 1929 — February 5, 2003
Grace Alberta Rommann, 73, a resident of the Hiawatha Care Center, formerly of Walker, died Wednesday, February 5, 2003, in the care center following a long illness. Services: 11:00 a.m., Saturday at the Walker United Methodist Church by the Rev. David Siler. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m., on Friday, February 7, 2003, at the Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Walker and one hour prior to the services at the church on Saturday. Burial: Evergreen Cemetery, Vinton.
Survivors include her children, Judy (Bob) Denison of North Carolina, Becky (Dennis) Patterson of Clive, Ron Rommann of Vinton, and Randy (Terri) Rommann of Walker; her sister, Edith West of Marion; her brothers, Kenneth Christianson of Vinton and Ben "Bud? (Fran) Christianson of Chicago; her grandchildren, Rod (Heather), Cary and Nick Vavricek, Kevin (Andrea) Patterson, Lindsey, Lauren, Andrew, Sarah and Alaina Rommann; her great-granddaughters, Brittany and Erica Vavricek, Leah Christianson and Elisabeth Patterson; her step-granddaughters, Shantelle, Brandi, and Sherry Denison.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bert; and her parents.
Grace was born December 16, 1929, in rual Norway, Iowa, the daughter of Ben and Ida (Sveningson) Christianson. She married Bert W. Rommann, on December 1, 1946, in Vinton. He died January 15, 2000. Grace was a homemaker and a member of the Walker United Methodist Church.
A memorial fund has been established.
