Gordon Bryce Winchell

Gordon B. Winchell, 79, of 120 Boca Chica Drive, Hiawatha, Iowa, died Friday, April 10, 2009, in Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. There will be no services. Arrangements are provided by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Loretta; son, Brian (Patti) Winchell of Corvallis, Oregon; daughters, Cindy (Edd) Porter of Hiawatha and Janet Winchell of Hiawatha; grandchildren, Erik, Holly, Jessica and Nick; great granddaughter, Lydia; and sister, Brycelynne Leishman.
Gordon was preceded in death by his parents.
Born March 18, 1930, in Goodland, Kansas, Gordon was the son of Gordon and Charlotte (Derby) Winchell. On June 17, 1956, he was united in marriage to Loretta Quick. He served in the U.S. Navy, retiring after 20 years.
Gordon enjoyed hunting, fishing and collecting guns.
