Gloria G. Eichhorn, 85, of Fairfax, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Service: 9:30 a.m. Thursday, June 23, 2016, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at the funeral home.
Survivors include children, Harold Randy Eichhorn of Cedar Rapids, Michael Eichhorn of Swisher, Gerald (Jodi) Eichhorn of Fairfax; grandchildren, Brad (Katie) Eichhorn, Anthony Eichhorn, Amber Eichhorn, Christopher Eichhorn, Jennifer (Jim) Peterson, Aimee Fuller, Justin DeMeulenaere, Mackenzie Eichhorn, Emerson Eichhorn; eleven great-grandchildren; brother, Don (Pauline) Bervid of Urbana; and brother-in-law, Charles (Nancy) Eichhorn of Belle Plaine.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; brother, Milo; and sister, Irene.
Gloria was born on April 2, 1931, in Shueyville, Iowa, daughter of Joseph and Barbara (Vrchoticky) Bervid. She graduated from Shueyville High School and she attended Kirkwood Community College, in the horticulture program. Gloria worked in the flower greenhouse at Kreb’s Flower Shop & Greenhouse in Cedar Rapids. She married Harold Eichhorn on January 10, 1952. Gloria enjoyed gardening, yard work, playing bingo and spending time with her grandchildren.
