Glenn Lonsdale, 71, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 17, 2017, at Mayvil Assisted Living in Cedar Rapids, after a long illness. Visitation: 4 - 7 p.m. Thursday, July 20, 2017, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Funeral Service: 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 21, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Glenn was born April 19, 1946, in King’s Lynn, England, the son of Richard and Toni (Lonsdale) Strain. He served in the Missouri Air National Guard during Vietnam. Glenn was a natural entertainer. He was a singer, songwriter, and guitarist who enjoyed sharing his talent while playing at many venues in and around Cedar Rapids. His life was his gift of music.
Glenn is survived by his significant other, Cindy Starks; mother, Toni Strain; special aunt in England; and many of his friends from his musical family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
