Glenn Allen Grawe, 53, of Marion, died Tuesday, March 16, 2010, in an automobile accident that occurred in Marion. Funeral Mass: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 20, 2010, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marion, by Father Rod Allers. The family will greet friends from 4 – 8 p.m., Friday, March 19, 2010, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, where a Vigil Service will begin at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service, Saturday at the church.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Sheri; his children, Jason O’Brien of Marion, Christopher (Jen) O’Brien of Marion, and Melissa (friend, Jesse Lasswell) Grawe of Marion; 1 grandson, Jacob Daniel “J.D.” Grawe; 3 granddaughters, Caitlyn, Ciara, and Cayleigh O’Brien; siblings, Mary (LaVern) Trumm of Manchester, Ruth (Pat) McGrane of Manchester, Darlene (Floyd) Kunkel of Hazel Green, Wisconsin, Robert (Jean) Grawe of Manchester, Donald Grawe of Dubuque, Carol (Ken) Cox of Cedar Falls, Merle (Karen) Grawe of Dyersville, Lois (Ken) Debrosse of Midland, Michigan, and Joanne (Marti) Wills of East Dubuque, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Glenn was born January 4, 1957, the son of Gerald and Aurelia (Stelken) Grawe, in Manchester, Iowa. He graduated from Dyersville Beckman High School in 1975 and married Sheri Ann (Wildebour) O’Brien on September 22, 1979 in Dubuque, Iowa. Glenn had owned and operated Grawe Real Estate and most recently worked for Remax. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion and a member of the Cedar Rapids Realtors Association. Glenn was a big supporter of kids with autism and the charities that support them. He loved the Iowa Hawkeyes, the Minnesota Twins, the Minnesota Vikings, and the Cedar Rapids Kernels. He especially enjoyed attending Iowa football games. Glenn was a great husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend .

A memorial fund has been established in Glenn’s memory.
