Glenn "Rick? Eastep, 41, of 1033 G Avenue N.W., Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, January 31, 2004, in his home, following a sudden illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 7, 2004, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids by Deacon Gerald Pettit. Burial: Downing Cemetery, Downing, Missouri. Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Survivors include a brother, Carl Olivas & fiancee Sherri Newman of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Therese Cushing and husband Duane of Rockford, Illinois; nieces and nephews, Heather and Ryan Cushing, Nicholas Olivas and Cassi Holsinger; his brothers by adoption, Ken (Jenny) Thorton of Mohave Valley, Arizona, and Bill (Teri) Thorton of California; his sister by adoption, Joy (Jim) Lorthrop of Cypress, California; his loving friends, George (Maria) Hewitt and family, Jim Damish and Alexia Akin, all of Cedar Rapids; and his dog, Buster.

He was preceded in death by his adoption parents, Pauline and Glenn Eastep, Sr; and his birth mother, Norma Jean Thorton.

Born on December 28, 1962, he graduated from Davis County High School in Bloomfield, Iowa. During high school he participated in sports. He later graduated from Kirkwood Community College. He worked as a lot attendant for Plymouth-Chrysler, a salesman at Grovert Chevrolet in Newhall, was an insurance agent through Farmer?s Insurance, and later worked for Amana Refrigeration. Rick was a charter member of Abate of Iowa, a member of the Cedar Rapids Chapter of HOG, and Eastern Iowa Bonsai Club, and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
