Glendora F. Eby (Lutz)
December 9, 1923 — January 16, 2008
Glendora F. Eby, 84, of Hiawatha, died Wednesday, January 16, 2008, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha, following an extended illness. Services: 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 19, 2008, at Zion Lutheran Church, Hiawatha, by the Rev. Daniel Krueger. The family will greet friends from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, January 18, 2008, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her children, Gary (Nancy) Eby of Bothel, Washington, Sharon Sterzenbach of Cedar Rapids, Ben (Diane) Eby of Hiawatha and Ron (Jackie) Eby of Fisher, Texas; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Florene Kula of Cedar Rapids; a niece, Barb Holt of Cedar Rapids; and special friend, Jean Eby of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thaine; and two grandchildren, Ron and Amy Eby.
Glendora was born December 9, 1923, the daughter of Jesse and Hazel (Petersen) Lutz, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. On January 2, 1943, she was united in marriage to Thaine Eby in Kahoka, Missouri. He died December 31, 2000. Glendora worked for Rockwell Collins retiring after 27 years of service. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Hiawatha.
The family wishes to give special thanks to the nurses and staff at Oldorf Hospice House and to Mercy Rehabilitation Center for the kind care given to Glendora.
A memorial fund has been established in memory of Glendora.
