Gladys Leone Hanna, 92, a resident of the Promise House of Hiawatha, died Wednesday, September 10, 2014, at the care center. Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 15, 2014, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Monday. Burial: Springville Cemetery.
Survivors include her sons, Dean (Mary) Hanna of Marion, and Dale (Jackie) Hanna of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Todd (Michelle) Hanna of Ely, Krista (Vance) Swisher of Stewartville, MN, and Lauren (Nathan) Vondra of East Dubuque; great-grandchildren, Nathan and Hanna Swisher, Caitlyn and Brandon Hanna, and Teddy Vondra; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; three brothers; and four sisters.
Gladys was born January 23, 1922, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Lars Peter and Anna (Jensen) Anderson. She married Robert M. Hanna on October 30, 1942, in Conrad, IA. Gladys was a member of the Rebekah Lodge of Springville, and the Springville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed knitting and needle work and all things outdoors, especially bird watching. Gladys loved being with her family and friends.
