Gerda Graesser, 93, of Amana, Iowa, passed away Friday, December 30, 2022, at Colonial Manor in Amana. Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 2, 2023, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids with visitation to begin at 10 a.m. Burial will be held at a later date at Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Gerda was born January 12, 1929, in Fichthorst, Germany, the daughter of Emil and Margrit (Thiel) Moeller. She worked at Amana Refrigeration and Schanz Furniture. Gerda was a member of First Lutheran Church. She loved to travel, knit, and cane chairs. She helped cane the largest rocking chair in the world which is in Amana, Iowa.


Survivors include her daughter, Helga (Kurt) Etscheidt of Cotopaxi, Colorado; granddaughters, Monique (Joe) Clifford of East Lansing, Michigan, Renell Strait of Cedar Rapids, great-grandsons, Conor (Cara) Clifford, of Madison, Wisconsin, Brady Clifford of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Liam Clifford of East Lansing, and Hunter Strait of Kirksville, Missouri; son-in-law, Jerry Strait of Cedar Rapids; niece, Angelika (Doug) Bryson of Amana, Iowa; and great-niece and nephew, Gina Bryson-Glandorf of Amana, and Levi (Jessica) Bryson of Amana.

Gerda was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Margrit Moeller; daughter, Inga Strait; siblings, Hinze (Hilda) Moeller, Bruno Moeller, Gerhart (Gerda) Moeller, and Helmut (Irmtraud) Moeller.
