Geraldine M. Strait (Knotts)

Geraldine M. (Knotts) Strait, 83, a resident of ManorCare, Cedar Rapids, went home to be with her Lord Friday, May 18, 2007. Services: 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 21, 2007, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Pastor Charles Stevens. The family will greet friends from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, May 20, 2007, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include two sisters, Ruth Ann Rowland and long time companion, Kenneth Lint and Pauline (Rev. Neal) Lint Gail, both of Cedar Rapids; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 50 years, Leland; a brother, Burris Knott; and a sister, Mary Ann Knotts.
Geraldine was born July 21, 1923, the daughter of Jesse and Hester (Taylor) Knotts, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. On November 11, 1945, she was united in marriage to Leland Strait. Geraldine never met a stranger and loved everyone. She was a great Christian who loved her Lord and showed it.
The family extends a special thank you to Hospice of Mercy, especially Laura, and the staff at ManorCare for their loving care given to Geraldine.
A memorial fund has been established in memory of Geraldine.
