Geraldine is survived by her children, Mattie Steele of Jackson, Mississippi, John R. (Mary) Lawler of Memphis, Tennessee and Pam (Roger) Edkin of Cedar Rapids; a sister Ruby Via of Memphis, Tennessee; ten grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and two brothers.

Geraldine was born July 1, 1921, the daughter of Marvin Lee and Ida May (Buford) Waldron, in Bells, Tennessee. On April 1, 1938, she married John R. Lawler in Alamo, Tennessee.

Gerry requested in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Immanuel Baptist Church for a memorial fund going to the mission work of Lyn Hyde in the Philippines where she and John had planned to go at the beginning of their ministry. That plan not being fulfilled due to the consulate not allowing visas for more missionaries in the late 40?s they were church planters in Washington, Oregon, California, Tennessee, and Mississippi for over 45 years. She remained faithful to that call of Jesus on her life, still teaching a Sunday school class until recent months. Her Godly example and influence will be greatly missed by all.
